Official Hawaii Child Support Guidelines Estimate
Hawaii uses the Child Support Guidelines Worksheet (CSG Worksheet), a Melson-style model that first protects each parent's basic needs, then funds the children's primary needs, and finally shares any remaining income with the children. Each parent contributes toward the total support obligation in proportion to their share of the parents' combined income.
The Hawaii guidelines set a presumptive minimum support obligation of $91 per child per month.
Hawaii's worksheet is built on a "Guidelines Net Income" that the court derives from gross income using an official Table of Incomes. That table accounts for federal and state taxes and a poverty-level self-support reserve, so the net figure is the correct starting point for the calculation.
The Standard of Living Adjustment is 10% of remaining income for each child, up to a maximum of 30%: 10% for one child, 20% for two, and 30% for three or more.
Estimate only. This tool applies the Hawaii Child Support Guidelines worksheet math to the net income you enter and does not reproduce the full Table of Incomes or shared-custody worksheets. For a binding order, use the Judiciary's official worksheet or consult the Hawaii CSEA or a family law attorney.
